About the event
The McDonald Music Foundation is proud to announce The International Sonata Competition 2018. This mid-year contest entails a physical and digital publication along with the top winner prize of 200 euro. We encourage all composers to participate. A submission fee of 15EUR and the application form found on our website is mandatory for participation.
Rules;
- For any instrument(s) - more than two instruments are not accepted e.g. trio sonata however bassoon and piano for example are accepted.
- Multi-movement works - three or more movements.
- Longer than 15 minutes
- All styles e.g. romantic, classical, baroque, impressionistic, 20th century, jazz, contemporary (a tonal) are accepted - we are looking for individuals who create original works in the style they feel most comfortable in
- Previously published works are not accepted.
A PDF submission, xml file, and recordings are mandatory. Manuscripts are also accepted and possibly featured in the publication.
